PGC Launches FFS-SPF

Almost 100 farmers from the municipalities of Ternate, Magallanes, Silang and the City of Imus attended the mass launching of Farmers’ Field School on Sustainable Pig Farming (FFS-SPF) initiated by the Provincial Government of Cavite thru the Provincial Veterinary Office headed by Dr. Gloria C. Digma, OIC-Provincial Veterinarian in partnership with the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) on December 5, 2017 at the Provincial Gymnasium in Trece Martires City. FFS-SPF is a farm model course developed by ATI. The 20 weeks training course will teach the farmers the basics of sustainable pig farming in line with organic agriculture methods and practices and will help them to update their skills as well as increase their income potential. Engr. Efren Nazareno, Provincial Administrator for External Affairs expressed his message of support on behalf of Governor Boying Remulla. Also present in the program were Magallanes Mayor Jasmin Angelli M. Bautista, SB Member Toribio Tafalla, and Engr. Freddie Sisante, Municipal Agriculturist, Mr. Roberto Marges, City Agriculturist of Imus and Ms. Mariel Celeste Dayanghirang, Assistant Center Director-ATI, Reg. IV-A . A pledge of commitment was signed by the guests and participants.
