To enhance the responsiveness and awareness on the guidelines and criteria on the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)  facilitated the Provincial Orientation on SGLG on May 11, 2018 at the ceremonial hall of the provincial government in Trece Martires City. DILG-Cavite Provincial Director Allan Benitez and Ms. Josephine S. Dela Rosa, SGLG Provincial Focal Person discussed the 2018 SGLG assessment criteria, SGLG indicators and forms. LGPMS database accessing, creating accounts and online data entry was also clarified during the orientation. Provincial Administrator for Internal Affairs Renato Abutan welcomed the participants and encouraged each organization to strive harder to come up with an excellent performance to get the SGLG award for the province of Cavite. According to the facilitators, it is important to understand the significance of the Seal to be familiar with the criteria and be accustomed with the implementation process, assessment tools and technology to be used.   DILG has also explained why SGLG was implemented.  It aims to influence good governance behavior and local decision making, complement the Philippine development plan and upgrade governance standards.  It was also tackled that targets for 2018 indicators comprised of financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, peace and order, business friendliness and competitiveness, environmental management and tourism, culture and the arts should be met to obtain the seal.
