In its effort to emphasize the importance of women and children in the society, the Provincial Government of Cavite through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) sponsored a Capability Building for Gender and Development Advocates on August 17, 2018 at the Bulwagan Tanglaw, DepEd Compound, Trece Martires City.
Participants include KATROPA Move Officers, representatives from the Municipal and City Social Welfare and Development Office, Local Government Units, and members of Rider’s and Toda. On behalf of Gov. Jesus Crispin C. Remulla, Atty. Khervy B. Reyes, Supervising Cooperative Development Specialist, motivated everyone to be an epitome of a responsible individual who will contribute and ensure that primary care and treatment to women and children were properly given appropriate assessment and concern.
During the program, Training for Gender Sensitivity Preparation for R.A 9262, Violence Against Women and Children and Orientation on Referral System were discussed by Ms. Precyl T. Ramos, Head – Gender and Development Unit of PSWDO while Ms. Amanda Lee Centeno, Project Development Officer III of DSWD Region IV-A oriented the participants
on R.A 9208, Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act and Anti-Child Pornography. On the other hand, Ms. Darylvy R. Avila, Social Welfare Officer IV of PSWDO delivered updates on the PSWDO Programs and Services for Women and Children.
Signing of the pledge of commitment highlighted the event which signifies the participants’ assurance to be an active member who would be an advocate on ending Violence Against Women and Children. PSWDO Head, Ms. Felipa G. Servañes capped the program and expressed her gratefulness to those who actively participate in the orientation.
