The Cavite Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) spearheaded the conduct of the leadership training for Persons with Disabilities’ (PWDs) on September 27, 2018 at DPWH Training Area in Barangay De Ocampo, Trece Martires City to enhance the leadership capacity of PWDs key leaders and boost their morale to motivate them in developing programs for their communities.  A Lecture and Workshop on Self Awareness was discussed by Mr. Joebert Aseo, Youth Development Worker of PSWDO. The participants were able to recognize their personal strengths, enhance their self-image and understand their individual character needed to become good leaders. Meanwhile, Mr. Jun Blanco Pagarita of PSWDO facilitated the “Timeline ng Buhay Ko.”  The partakers were asked to describe their happiest and loneliest experiences since birth up to the present stages of their lives. On the other hand, Mr. Kenneth Camyr M. Mindajao, Administrative Assistant II/Budgeting Assistant of Philippine State College of Aeronautics delivered the topic How to Become an Effective Leader. Likewise, various games were prepared for the attendees which taught them that they can improve themselves to be a good leader. The highlight of the training was the Formulation of Vision and Mission shared by Ms. Darylvy R. Avila, Social Worker IV, PSWDO. A workshop was done and different questions were asked to help the participants come up with the best output needed for the formulation. Also in attendance were Engr. Aldwin Jester Ancayan, PWD Focal Person of DPWH Cavite who gave the welcome remarks while Mr. Michael Diaz of the Office of the Governor gave a short message on behalf of Governor Boying Remulla.  Ms. Fely Servañez, PSWDO Head, closed the program by thanking everyone for their efforts and stressed that disability is not a hindrance to become a good and efficient leader.
