OPA AND 4-H CLUB HOLDS PROVINCIAL 4-H ACHIEVEMENT DAY

Municipal/City 4-H coordinators and LGU delegates together with their student representatives from various public and private schools in the province actively participated in the Provincial 4-H Achievement Day carrying the theme, “BIDA 4-H: Bringing Innovation and Development in Agriculture through 4-H Club” held on March 26, 2019 at the Farmers and Fishermen’s Hall, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) Compound in Brgy. Luciano, Trece Martires City. The event aims to engage the youth in the field of agriculture, partake in different livelihood projects and showcase their talents. Provincial Agriculturist Ms. Lolita C. Pereña warmly acknowledged all the participants while Indang Municipal Councilor John Mark “Goto” M. Cayao, keynote speaker, shared his own story which inspired and motivated the young ones to keep on chasing their dreams and never let failures bring them down as it is part of the journey in achieving their goals. Meanwhile, Asst. Provincial Agriculturist for Operation Mr. Reynato Rozul and Regional 4-H Focal Person Mr. Roy Roger Victoria also imparted words of encouragement to the participants. First place winners in various contests were awarded including: Mr. Ivan Louie Cruto of Dasmariñas National High School in 4H Promotional Video Making; Ms. Anajane Marie Silvestre of Imus City in 4-H Himig Handog; Mr. Jom Sanchez of Dasmariñas City in Spoken Poetry; Mr. Joseph Ponce of Indang Municipal in On-the-Spot Canvass Making; Mr. Jimuel Limbo of Naic National High School in Terrarium (Bottle Gardening); Ms. Erica Tanaotanao of Munting Ilog National High School- Silang in 4-H Quiz Bee; and, Ms. Yasmine Daño of Imus City in Cacao Based Processing and Packaging Technology Contest. The said winners will represent the province and compete in the Regional 4-H Achievement Day on April 10-12, 2019.
