As a continuing engagement of the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) to support tourism stakeholders, Provincial Tourism Officer Rozelle Sangalang led the oath-taking of officers of the Cavite Alliance of Independent Tour Operators (CAITO) held on October 14, 2020 via Zoom. Ms. Sangalang warmly welcomed and congratulated the newly-organized association, and took the opportunity of imparting the recovery programs of the Department of Tourism as well as the efforts of the provincial government to address the challenges faced by the industry.
Part of the online activity is a webinar entitled “Keeping Cool during Hot Times: Managing Yourself and COVID-19 Stress,” conducted by Provincial Health Office-Cavite Center for Mental Health Psychiatrist Dr. Elizabeth Santos. Participants were glad to learn about self-compassion strategies to keep the mind healthy during these trying times, and were reminded of the importance of connecting with people and seeking help when needed.
Likewise, adding inspiration to participants is social entrepreneur Therine Diquit, proprietor of Likhang Maragondon Native Products and Pasalubong Center, who shared their humble beginnings. She presented their crafts and the local artisans behind their success.
Closing the program is CAITO President Lorilyn Tepora who, along with her co-officers and members including Vice President Cecilia Rufo, Treasurer Araceli Abella, Secretary Jay-anne Pilapil, Auditor Jane Isip, and PRO Jinaline Erasquin, pledged their commitment to the promotion of tourism in the province.
