The Provincial Government of Cavite (PGC), through the Provincial
Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO), recently conducted its 2nd
Museum Curatorial Training on March 28-30, 2022 via Zoom. The program
aims to extend learning opportunity for aspiring curators through
comprehensive curatorial training with a thorough grounding in the
relevant study of history, research and theory in the province.
Provincial Tourism Officer Rozelle S. Sangalang warmly welcomed the
resource persons and participants from different universities in Cavite.
In her message, she pointed out the significance of the province’s
cultural heritage and encouraged the attendees to embrace the knowledge
they were about to acquire for it will help them fulfill their duty as
future workers in the industry.
The following topics were discussed during the first day of training:
Introduction to Museum by Mr. Ryan Tan, Exhibition Concept by Ms. Heidee
Paulette Bedruz, and Exhibition Narrative by Mr. Francis Kristoffer
Pasion. The following day, the participants learned about the Elements
of Design as discussed by Ms. Mary Lyn Dioso and Exhibition Design by
Mr. Noel Cuizon. On the 3rd day, Mr. Jude Roland R. Ay-ay discussed the
Preventive Conservation while Mr. Christian Bernard A. Melendez imparted
the tour guiding techniques.
During the last day of training, the participants were tasked to come up
with a virtual presentation about Voter’s Education in the
Philippines, applying their learnings throughout the 3-day training.
Future Curator Awards were given to Mr. Daniel Nico P. Laudit of CvSU
– Main Campus and Mr. John Louie S. Malonda of CvSU – Silang Campus.
In her closing remarks, Senior Shrine Curator of Museo ni Emilio
Aguinaldo Ms. Bedruz, expressed her appreciation to all the students who
actively participated in the training and to the speakers who shared
their knowledge and expertise.
