Aiming to empower future young entrepreneurs, the Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office (PCLEDO) and World Vision Development Foundation, Inc. facilitated the last session of BIZ iCREATE- Cavite’s Responsible Entrepreneurs Aiming Toward Economic Sustainability for the Youth Sector on September 27, 2019 at the PCLEDO Training Area, CaCoDec in Trece Martires City.
The last session involved the business plan presentation of the nine groups, divided into 2 sets with each group given 20 minutes to discuss and defend their business plan. Panelists were Cavite State University-Main Faculty Researcher Mr. Zandro M. Catacutan, Vice President of M2B Commercial & Trading Corporation Mr. Michael Bacanto, Technical Program Manager on Economic Development of World Vision Mr. Cesar M. Bautista for Set 1 while Owner of Aqua 4A & Reclusado Marketing Mr. Allan G. Reclusado, Owner of Precious Knowledge Training Center Ms. Angelina M. San Pedro and Program Manager on Economic Development of World Vision Mr. Douglas Chua were for Set 2. During the presentation, panelists recommended ways on how to enhance their products and services, shared insights on how to handle their target market and how to identify proper packaging, brand name and pricing. They also underscored the significance of being unique in the business industry.
Forty-nine young aspiring entrepreneurs consisted of Pag-Asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) members from different cities and municipalities successfully completed the Batch 2 BIZ iCREATE training. The graduation ceremony was held at the Ceremonial Hall of the Provincial Capitol Building in the afternoon. They were congratulated by Provincial Administrator for Community Affairs Mr. Alvin Mojica who shared the reason behind why PYAP has been very close to his heart, as he was once a PYAP member in his early years. He encouraged the young ones to finish their studies and pursue a job or put up their own business.
In order to support the business journey of the young hopefuls, the local government gave cash incentives that will serve as starting capital for their small business. Likewise, Mr. Bautista of World Vision Development Foundation, Inc. expressed his appreciation to the administration for being aggressive and active in boosting entrepreneurship in the province.
Dr. Aldrin P. Antivola, BIZ iCREATE Resource Person, compared the journey of graduates to the cycle of caterpillar that turns out to be a beautiful butterfly and to an eagle who knows how to soar high.
Highlight of the program was the announcement of winners for Best in Business Plan which was awarded to the City of General Trias (Chicken N’ Marbles) coached by Mr. Reclusado and City of Dasmariñas (Brownut Company) coached by Mr. Bacanto.
On behalf of BIZ iCREATE Batch 2, Ms. Mirriam Salacayan took the opportunity to thank everyone who has been part of the program. She shared that it is not easy to manage a business as it needs focus and strong determination to make it work.
