Undisputable on its campaign on generating more receptive folks towards the issue on the equality of men and women, the provincial government of Cavite led by Governor Jonvic Remulla thru the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) remains persistent on producing gender responsive Cavitenos with its Training of Trainers on Gender and Development Training/Workshop Level III held at The Bayleaf Hotel in the City of General Trias on November 20-22, 2019 .
The three-day training/workshop on GAD aim to capacitate the heads of office/agency or the GAD focal persons on GAD related issues and produce GAD champions which may become GAD speakers or GAD crusader of the province.
During the event, Provincial Administrator for Community Affairs Mr. Alvin Mojica and Provincial Cooperative Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office (PCLEDO) head Atty. Khervy Reyes joyfully welcomed the partakers and shared their views on GAD, conveying the roles of the GAD advocates and igniting the spirits of the attendees to promote equal rights and opportunities on women as prime mover in their organization.
GAD concepts, review on GST, updates on related trainings and updates on new laws related to GAD were discussed by Ms. Darylvy Avilla, echoing the topics tackled on Level 1 and Level 2 trainings and refreshing the minds of the participants on gender sensitivity, gender mainstreaming and gender laws for women and children.
On the other hand, Dr. Nelia C. Cresino, GAD resource speaker elaborated the topics on Gender Analysis Tools and its application. Workshops were facilitated which enabled the focal persons to fully understand the impact of development policies and programs on men and women. Conversing the issues on gender analysis guided the learners to realize the interference and approaches to be made and grasp the gender complications to surface to accomplish the objective of gender analysis matrix. Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF) and the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) were thoroughly illustrated which prompted the attendees to reflect their practices in their organization.
Presentation of outputs and in-depth dialogue were finalized on the last day of the training including the closing response of the participants. The event was concluded with a message from PSWDO head Ms. Felipa G. Servañez and reiterated that all the learnings must be transmitted into action and echoed to the members of the organization. She pleasantly called on support of PGC employees and firmly conversed that PSWDO will continue to be optimistic in implementing programs for women and children as GAD advocate and catalyst of goodwill and equality among every individual.
