In its aim to formally equip the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) managers with proper training for basic employment delivery , the Department of Labor and Employment- Regional Office IV-A (DOLE IV-A) in partnership with Cavite PESO Managers’ Association (CPMA), Inc., spearheaded by Dr. Eva R. Defiesta, successfully conducted a 3-day Basic Employment Service Training (BEST) for PESO managers in Cavite on September 19-21, 2018 at the Ceremonial Hall of the Provincial Capitol in Trece Martires City.
The training started with a profound discussion of the programs implemented by PESO and DOLE which comprised of Understanding DO 113 Series of 2011, Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK Caravan), Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), Government Internship Program (GIP), DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP), Anti-Child Labor Law, Reintegration Service for OFW and Philippine Jobstart Program communicated by Regional Employment Focal Person, Ms. Naomi N. Hernandez .
The next day, Ms. Marie Iris A. Prieto, Labor Market Information (LMI) Focal Person tackled about the concepts and uses of LMI which helps the customers specifically the job seekers to formulate their choices and decisions on the preferred jobs and recognize the history of the organizations. Likewise, Mr. Jorge Manuel C. Laude, Career Guidance and Employment Coaching (CGEC) Focal Person conveyed the topic on CGEC which guides and informs the students and jobseekers in making their career choices.
The third day of the training which was facilitated by Mr. Dominador C. Aquino from the Bureau of Local Employment gave a short orientation on the criteria in searching for Best PESO. The participants also had a Hands-on Training on PESO Employment Information System (PEIS) led by Ms. Naomi Hernandez which covers the profiles of individuals and employers. It also shows the qualifications and skills of the applicants and incorporates the job vacancies of registered employers. She also delivered the closing remarks and expressed her gratitude to everyone who have been part of the training.
