PYSDO HOLDS THE PYDP TRAINING FOR SK AND LYDO

In its effort to optimize the youthā€™s involvement in nation building and be globally active in social and economic activity that will bring a holistic participation in the society, the Provincial Government of Cavite thru the Provincial Youth and Sports Development Office (PYSDO) spearheaded a 2-day seminar focusing on ā€œMainstreaming of Peace and Order Program to Provincial Youth Development Planā€ at Aquamira Resort in the municipality of Tanza on November 08-09, 2018.

Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation Officers and Local Youth Development Officers (LYDO) in different cities and municipalities in the province attended the training.Ā  PYSDO head Mr. Rodel Vincent T. Bae warmly welcomed all the participants and left an inspirational thought that centered on unity and teamwork as he said ā€œNothing is impossible for those who work as one to serve the public. ā€œ

Seminar proper started as Ms. Eloisa G. Rozul, OIC-Provincial Director of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) elaborated the Disaster Risk Reduction Management and Climate Change Adaptation. She clearly explained that risk reduction management should be treated in an integrated approach to reduce the risks of disaster caused by the natural hazards. She also enlightened everyone on the adjustments that should be made in order to regulate the negative effects of climate change and lessen the vulnerability of social and biological system. She also recommended that organizations must expect the worst-case scenario in developing their plan.

Likewise, it was followed by a thorough discussion of Philippine Youth Development Plan (PYDP) 2017-2022 supervised by Mr. Bae.Ā  The main function of SK and LYDO in the community was also clarified during the session.Ā  Mr. Bae recognized the importance of proper coordination with each other in order to gain a better result for their target plans and programs designed for their constituents. He also identified the youthā€™s needs and gaps that the young ones may encounter.

Moreover, DILG Senior Staff, Mr. Joseph Ryan V. Geronimo conversed on the topic ā€œDevelopment Planningā€. He molded the knowledge of participants on the proper way of creating the PYDP to cope up with the innovative procedures. He also mentioned that the nine (9) centers for youth participation plays a crucial role in PYDP.

Consolidation of the ideas and techniques in developing the PYDP as they apply the knowledge gained during the workshop was made the following day. Mr. Bae expressed his gratitude to the speakers for being generous in conveying their knowledge and skills to all the participants and thanked the attendees for their eagerness to learn new ideas and information on PYDP.
