The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) with the able support of the Provincial Government of Cavite celebrated the 1st Multi-Sectoral Assembly on January 23, 2018 at the Provincial Gymnasium in Trece Martires City with the theme: “Strong Partnership for a Sustainable Development Program.”
Ms. Fely G. Servañez, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer acknowledged the Board Members and participants for their cooperation in all their endeavors. Mr. Alvin S. Mojica, PSWDO Consultant and Provincial Cooperative Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office (PCLEDO) Head assured the sectoral groups of more support and assistance from the provincial government as it will transpire motivation for the councils to solidify their ties. On the other hand, Provincial Councilor’s League – Cavite President Board Member Kerby Salazar encouraged the members of the councils to actively participate and formulate more programs for the benefit of each sector. Executive Assistants Bholie Razon and EL Diaz represented Gov. Boying Remulla, the same with Ms. Aiza Gutierrez who attended on behalf of Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla.
An audio-visual presentation of sectoral accomplishments of Federation of Senior Citizens, Persons with Disabilities, Solo Parents, Children and Youth that includes Day Care Federation and Pag-Asa Youth Association, OFW Federation and Military Retirees/Veterans were presented. Programs for senior citizens were identified such as Kalinga sa Nakatatanda, Elderly Week Celebration and distribution of burial assistance. Programs for disabled comprised of Sunong Dunong Distribution and assistive devices for Person’s with Disability (PWDs) were being implemented. Practical Skills and Development, Self-Employment, Assistance Program for Solo Parents and Youth Association were also shown to familiarize the audience on the projects that were accomplished by the councils. Commitment Signing of Sectoral Presidents and council members sealed the goal of the Multi-Sectoral Assembly.
Balloon flying was conducted to signify and send good wishes for the success of each councils. Meanwhile, Dr. Jadaza Hintay gave a motivational talk on partnership building. According to her, in being together, everyone accomplishes more and power of a team was achieved. In partnership, members must build trust, basically practices excellent governance structure, and possess open communication with each member of the multi-sectoral leaders which continually seek feedback from the community.
Certificates of Recognition were also awarded to Board Members, City/Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers and partner departments. Teatro Baile de Cavite provided the intermission numbers. Board Member Reinalyne Varias, Committee on Women, Family, and Social Services delivered the closing remarks.
