True on its commitment to uplift the lives of the Caviteños, the provincial government of Cavite led by Governor Jonvic Remulla, thru the Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office (PCLEDO) spearheaded by Atty. Kherby Reyes conducted the Forum on Barangay Livelihood and Enterprise Development (B-LED) for the municipality of Magallanes on December 5, 2019 held at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan in Trece Martires City. It aims to capacitate key barangay officials/officers on the creation and strengthening of livelihood projects and enterprise development in their community.
Provincial Administrator for Community Affairs Mr. Alvin Mojica and First District Board Member Romel Enriquez, SP Committee Chair on Cooperatives and Rural Development welcomed the partakers and stimulated the entrepreneurial spirits of the barangay leaders, emphasizing the importance of livelihood and business opportunities in their communities. They have echoed their full support on cooperativism and enterprise development, inspiring the barangay leaders and conveying their thoughts on entrepreneurship as different projects were being implemented by the province, in coordination with various local and national agencies to enhance the lives of the people and elevate their source of income.
During the forum, Mr. Jose Lito Rozul, Cluster D Head of the Department of Interior and Local Government-Cavite elaborated the process on how to set up Barangay Development Council and allocating funds for livelihood and enterprise development projects. Likewise, Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay and other Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) programs and services were presented by Ms. Revelyn Cortez, OIC-DTI-Cavite , reporting their accomplishments and inspiring the members of the micro small and medium sized enterprises to empower their entrepreneurs and scale up their business. She emphasized the need of the budding entrepreneurs to be educated on the new trends in business and the relevance of identifying the communities which have the urgency to be given business orientations and assistance.
On the other hand, Mr. Ricky Martin Velasco, Senior Labor Officer of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)- Cavite discussed how to avail the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) and the DOLE-Funded projects. Ms. Jenelyn Dino, Guidance Counselor and focal person for Special Client of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) – Cavite lectured on TESDA Abot Lahat Project , with focus on community based training program. Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – Cavite Provincial Director Engr. Raul Castañeda has also presented the DOST programs and services .
In the afternoon, programs and services for agripreneurs were conversed by Mr. Reynato Rozul, Assistant Provincial Agriculturist of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) while business opportunities and trends and other PCLEDO programs and services were conveyed by Ms Liza Gabatan, Entrepreneurial Division head of PCLEDO. Likewise, Ms. Sheryll Loyola, Livelihood Division head of PCLEDO communicated the guide in starting a livelihood project and explained the importance of cooperative as partner for development.
Capping the program was a question and answer portion that gave the barangay leaders the opportunity to clarify their queries and was thoroughly answered by the speakers and lecturers that enlighten the perception of the attendees.
