PGC Conducts Cavite Kids Congress


     The Provincial Government of Cavite thru the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children conducted the Caviteño Kids Congress with the theme, “Isulong: Kalidad na Edukasyon  Para sa Lahat ng Bata” on February 16, 2017 at the General Trias Convention and Cultural Center, City of General Trias, Cavite.

    The highlight of the celebration was the State of the Children’s Address delivered by Engr. Enrico Alvarez, Provincial Administrator for Internal Affairs on behalf of Governor Boying Remulla stating the accomplishments, programs and services of the Provincial Government for the children thru the PCPC.

     Children representatives were chosen as members of the PCPC from the in-school, out-of-school youth and children from different member institutions of ABSNET or Area Based Standard Network, an umbrella organization of different centers and community based organizations operating within the Province of Cavite.

    Gracing the event were Mr. Alvin Mojica, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) Consultant; Ms. Felipa G. Servañez, PSWDO and PCPC Secretariat Head; Ms. Rowena Calavero from the Regional Juvenile Justice Welfare Council who shed some light on the campaign about lowering the Minimum Age of Criminal Responsibility (MACR) for children; Ms. Precyl T. Ramos, SWO III, PSWDO and Mr. Ricky Bunao, Sectoral Unit Head, DSWD Field Office IV-A who gave lectures on Children’s Rights and Child Participation respectively.

     A total of 1,200 students, parents, teachers, personnel from the City/Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (C/MSWDO) of the 5 cities and 18 municipalities in the province, PCPC members, PSWDO staff and other stakeholders attended the event. (PICAD)
