PICAD2017-108

The province of Cavite hosted the 24th Annual Conference of the Regional Council of the Human Resources Management Practitioners (HRMPs) on May 9-11, 2017 at the Tagaytay International Convention Center, Tagaytay City with the theme “Innovate, Integrate, Inspire: Pathways to Strategic Human Resource and Organizational Development.”

More than 700 participants from CALABARZON and MIMAROPA gathered for the three-day learning activity which was jam-packed by innovative ideas to guide administrative and human resources officers towards effectively managing employees. Civil Service Commission (CSC)-Cavite Director Maria Theresa Poblador together with Cavite CHRMP President Romeo Manalaysay welcomed guests including CSC Chairperson Alicia Dela Rosa-Bala and Commissioner Roberto Martinez, CSC Regional Directors Atty. Alexis P. Tabino and Atty. Karin Litz P. Zerna, TagaytayCity Vice-Mayor Raymond Ambion, as well as delegates from each province headed by their provincial director and HRMP council president.

The conference provided comprehensive topics on human resources management practice, data gathering and analysis, financial wellness, best practices on modeling HR plus updates on CSC memo circulars. It also acquainted attendees during the fellowship night sponsored by Cavite Governor Boying Remulla. Raffle prizes came from various LGUs, academic institutions and business establishments in the province.

Helping HR practitioners unleash their potential to care more for employees and bridge data gap in the organization was Mr. Augusto Francis R. De Vera from iCross Consulting and Training. His topic focused on how to elevate competence and confidence of employees, sharing five keys to achieve a policy-driven and people-driven HR. These embrace certain actions, among them, to learn what truly drives change; to ensure rewarding and responsible thinking process; to build a compassionate culture; to share stories that inspire; and lastly to have a happy life.

Also stirring the interest of the audience was renowned author and award-winning entrepreneur Ardy Roberto with his topic on financial wellness. Mr. Roberto’s book entitled “Ang Pera na Hindi Bitin” was included in the kit of participants as their guide to a healthy money mindset. He was joined by his wife Ms. Miriam Quiambao during their book signing. They left a simple reminder to their audience that great wealth is merely a result of godliness and contentment in life.

On the third day of the conference, participants were inspired by the presentation of Ms. Jacqueline Landicho from Tanauan City Government highlighting the accomplishments of their organization from having competent employees and dynamic leaders. Their achievements were rooted in their competence-based HR management, training needs analysis with continuous assessment and monitoring of employees’ performance.

Conferment of the seal of excellence to GSIS provincial offices in the region led by CSC Commissioner Roberto Martinez became part of the closing program, while the turnover of responsibility to Romblon as next host province for the 25th HRMPs Regional Annual Conference commenced the event.
