DTI Launches Kapatid Mentor Me Cavite in the City of Bacoor

 

     The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in partnership with Go Negosyo Mentor Me Program, Kapatid Angat Lahat, Negosyo Centers and the City Government of Bacoor held the launching of Kapatid Mentor Me Cavite at the Revilla Hall of Government Center Building, City of Bacoor, Cavite last June 28, 2017.

     City Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla, in her welcome message expressed support to the program as it will bring more livelihood opportunities to micro and small entrepreneurs. 

    DTI Secretary Ramon M. Lopez, the keynote speaker informed everyone the DTI-formed alliance with Go Negosyo Mentor Me Program, an advocacy of Mr. Joey Conception which is a 12-week coaching and mentoring program designed to help Filipinos who wish to be an entrepreneur. The program’s modules will be taught by business practitioners with an extensive knowledge in their field. The objectives of the program are to equip small entrepreneurs with the proper techniques, mindset and values, knowledge and strategies and consultation services to foster successful and sustainable enterprises. He also cited that the national government will introduce a financing program that will help Filipinos who wishes to be an entrepreneur, with only a 2% interest per month, which is a better substitute for the “5/6” lending scheme. According to Sec. Lopez, people should be happy in their business.

   Mr. Armand Bengco, Executive Director of Calayco Foundation for Education, briefly discussed Module 1 of the Mentor Me program. He said doing business must always be new and different and entrepreneurs must be risk takers. Questions and answers followed.

  Other guests included DTI-IVA Regional Director Marilou Q. Toledo, DTI Cavite Provincial Director Noly D. Guevarra and Ms. Teresita M. Leabres, CaSMEDC Chairperson. They also led the awarding of Certificates of Appreciation to speakers. (PICAD)
