Three medical and dental missions were simultaneously conducted in Alfonso, Cavite on January 16, 2020 to cater to the needs of the victims of Taal volcano eruption coming from Batangas province currently sheltered in the municipality. The medical team of General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital headed by Dr. Eunice Derequito with the doctors from General Trias Rural Health Unit served 35 patients at Alfonso Central School, the town’s main evacuation area. Meanwhile, 17 patients were treated at Barangay Matagbak by volunteer doctors from the GEAMH headed by Dr. Dona Molato together with the medical mission team of EAC Medical Center-Cavite headed by Dr. Benzon Mangubat, and volunteer nurses. The other team of doctors from GEAMH treated 116 patients at Alfonso municipal covered court. All the patients underwent checkup and consultation and were provided with prescribed medicines and vitamins. Barangay Health Workers of Alfonso also assisted in the mission. Donations coming from the Cavite Medical Society and PAGCOR for the evacuees in Alfonso were turned over to Mayor Randy Salamat who also thanked the PGC for the mission.
