The Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) successfully held a webinar entitled “Keeping Cool during Hot Times: Managing Yourself and Covid19 Stress” for the members of Cavite Travel and Tours Association (CTTA) on October 14, 2020 via Zoom.

CTTA President Carina Buendia warmly welcomed participants and acknowledged the support of PTCAO as she stated updates on the association’s status at these challenging times.

Meanwhile, Provincial Tourism Officer Rozelle Sangalang shared DOT’s Response and Recovery Programs, PTCAO’s initiatives to regain public trust and confidence, as well as the new normal health and safety protocols that travel agencies and tour guides must be aware of. Moreover, as part of PTCAO’s familiarization tour program, videos of three (3) DOT-accredited farm tourism sites namely, Nurture Farmacy and Wellness Village in Tagaytay City, Bounty Harvest Farm in Indang, and Terra Verde Ecofarm in Maragondon, were presented virtually.

Some practical stress-reduction tips to calm the mind, feel in control, and stay productive amid the pandemic were shared during the lecture of Dr. Elizabeth Santos of the Provincial Health Office-Cavite Center for Mental Health. Participants sincerely expressed their appreciation to Dr. Santos and PTCAO for arranging such outreach activity for travel agents who were among the most affected by the crisis.

Adding more inspiring and happy thoughts was the story of social entrepreneur Ms. Therine Diquit, Likhang Maragondon Native Products and Pasalubong Center owner. Her presentation sparked interest among travel agents to promote cultural tour packages involving the local artisans behind the success of Likhang Maragondon.

CTTA Treasurer Shella Trinidad’s closing message capped the online event, thanking the provincial government and the resource persons for extending support and showing commitment to help tourism stakeholders recover.
