Ensuring that local plans are aligned to the National Tourism
Development Plan, the Department of Tourism CALABARZON conducted a
seminar on Tourism Guidebook last September 15, 2023 at the View Park Hotel
Tagaytay. The event was attended by the tourism officers and planning
coordinators of Cavite.
The Tourism Guidebook Rollout highlighted the shared responsibilities of
stakeholders as well as the different aspects to be considered in
tourism development such as disaster risk reduction, gender and
development, climate change adaptation, zoning, infrastructure
development, and statistical data. This training also discussed the step
by step guide on work plan preparation, site evaluations, goals setting,
and strategies in developing and packaging a destination which can be
useful in creating a local tourism development plan.
The activity was also attended by resource persons from the DOT Main
Office-Planning Division and from the Tourism Infrastructure and
Enterprise Zone Authority who discussed how LGUs can avail of the
tourism infrastructure project grants from TIEZA.
