The Office of the Provincial Public Employment Service Manager (OPPESM) facilitated a seminar on Anti-illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons on November 30, 2023 at the Ceremonial Hall of the provincial capitol in Trece Martires City.Ā PESO Managers from the different LGUs in the province actively participated in the event, gaining valuable insights to effectively combat these illicit activities.

Director Marivic B. Martinez, the Provincial Director of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), graced the event. Her presence underscored the dedication of governmental bodies to work collectively in combating illicit practices, highlighting the crucial need for a unified approach.

The event featured esteemed speakers who shed light on various aspects of anti-illegal recruitment and trafficking in persons. Atty. Rina Rojas, OIC-Chief, Legal Assistance Division-Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), provided a comprehensive overview of the campaign and delved into the intricacies of laws addressing illegal recruitment and trafficking. Her insights served as a legal compass, guiding attendees through the complexities of these issues.

Mr. Rommel C. Dianito of DMW also took the stage to impart invaluable wisdom on avoiding illegal recruitment and trafficking. His presentation, “10 Reminders to Avoid Illegal Recruitment, Trafficking, Online Scams, andĀ Apat Dapat,” was a practical guide to avoid these illegal activities. The inclusion of online scams underscored the evolving nature of these illicit activities in the digital age.

Following the informative sessions, an open forum was facilitated, allowing participants to engage directly with the speakers. This interactive segment provided a platform for clarifications, additional insights, and the exchange of experiences related to illegal recruitment and trafficking.
