Committed to promote the rights and welfare of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Cavite, the Provincial Person with Disability Affairs Office (PPDAO) tapped the support of Adaptive Technology for the Rehabilitation, Integration and Empowerment of the Visually Impaired (ATRIEV), a non-government organization in granting cash assistance to Caviteños with disabilities.
In a simple ceremony held on September 20, 2022 at the Provincial Capitol E-Registration Area, five PWDs were granted P5,000.00 cash each by ATRIEV. Beneficiaries were Ms. Desiree Magsayao and Ms. Chola Viray from the City of Dasmariñas, Ms. Mariel Torres of Tagaytay City, Ms. Cecille Rose Primero of Carmona and Mr. Francisco Antonio from Tanza. They have undergone and passed the 23-day free online training on Digital Business Basics where they learned business startups, from the use of technology up to sales and marketing online and offline.
ARTRIEV President Jose “Ching” Rañola headed the awarding ceremony together with Ms. Marie Shiela Antenor-Haloc, PPDAO head. Likewise, officers and some staff of ATRIEV had a courtesy call with Gov. Jonvic Remulla.
In the afternoon, the PGC team steered an Interagency Exploratory Meeting for Economic Inclusions and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities at the Happy Homes Housing Cooperative (HHHC) in Barangay Bucal, Tanza, Cavite. This meeting was joined by the HHHC Chairperson Dr. Benjamina Abueg-Pereyra, ATRIEV staff and trainers, and representatives from different national line agencies like TESDA, DOLE and DTI.
