The 2023 Cavite Entrepreneurship Students Conference, spearheaded by the Office of the Provincial Cooperatives Development Officer in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry, transpired as a crucial occasion for future business owners of Cavite, showcasing a lively exhibition of cooperation and motivation.

With motivational speeches that emphasized the youth’s potential as tomorrow’s leaders, Governor Jonvic C. Remulla, Mr. Alvin S. Mojica, Provincial Administrator for Community Affairs, and Ms. Revelyn Cortez, DTI-Provincial Director and OIC-ARD, set the tone for the conference. A solid foundation for the transformative journey ahead was provided by their emphasis on preparing the youth for the business world, with a particular focus on fostering their creativity, artistry, and innovation.

DTI ROG Asec. Dominic Tolentino Jr. took the stage as the keynote speaker, underscoring the youth’s innate abilities to turn ideas into reality and dreams into successful businesses. Asec. Tolentino also delved into the Youth Entrepreneur programs of DTI, including the impactful ‘BYOB’ initiative (Be Your Own Boss). He shared insights into the qualities defining a successful youth entrepreneur and illuminated the path of their entrepreneurial journey.

The oath-taking ceremony for the Cavite Youth Leaders for Entrepreneurship (CYLE) officers for the term 2023ā€“2025 was a momentous occasion during the conference. This ceremony, which was led by Ms. Liza Gabatan, Entrepreneurial Division Head of OPCDO represented the young leaders’ dedication to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and community development.

In addition, the conference included prominent resource speakers who provided participants with a range of insightful viewpoints. DTI Director Jo-Dann Darong illuminated the enormous potential of the Philippine Creative Industry by examining its dynamics. Inspiring the youth to forge their unique journeys, Ms. Noreen L. Baetiong, Founder and Creative Director of Lit Digital, Inc., shared insights on crafting a creative path in entrepreneurship.

Mr. Joel Caalaman, Intellectual Property Field Operations Specialist of IPOPHL Calabarzon, delved into the crucial aspects of Intellectual Property in the Creative Industry, equipping the attendees with knowledge to protect their innovative creations.

The inspiring success stories of successful entrepreneurs/content creators, Ms. Karla Obispo and Mr. Mark Ivan Liveta were also presented at the conference, showing how creativity and passion can result in business success.

The conference highlighted the announcement of winners in the Most Creative Audio Visual Media Work competition. National University from DasmariƱas City, claimed the top spot with an average of 94.33%, followed by ISHRM in the second position, and PUP Maragondon securing the third place.

In her closing remarks, Ms. Rebecca Tarasona, Business Development Division Chief of DTI-Cavite, extended heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished guests, resource speakers, and representatives from both public and private universities and colleges. Ms. Tarasona also took a moment to congratulate the newly-appointed officers of the CYLE, recognizing their potential to contribute significantly to innovation and entrepreneurship. Emphasizing the unique strengths of the youth, she highlighted their natural inclination towards technology, boundless energy, and innate creativity as the key factors that position them as potential successful innovators, inventors, and business owners. She concluded her remarks with a poignant reminder from the Bible, quoting Matthew 25-28: “Take therefore the talent from him and give it unto HIM which had 10 talents,” underscoring the importance of utilizing one’s abilities and talents for greater purposes.

The 2023 Cavite Entrepreneurship Students Conference, with its dynamic blend of inspiration, knowledge-sharing, and celebration of creativity, stands as a testament to the commitment of Cavite to foster a new generation of innovative and resilient entrepreneurs who will shape the future of business and creativity in the region.
