The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) kicked off a two-day Agri Trade Fair and Exhibits with the themeĀ “Produktong Pinagyaman sa Kanayunan, Laan sa Malusog at Maunlad na Pamayanan”Ā to promote variety of Cavite produced from sixteen (16) participating municipalities and cities on November 10-11, 2022 at the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist Compound, Trece Martires City.
During the program, Ms. Lorna E. AviƱante, Officer-in-Charge of OPA, acknowledged the presence of the guests and participants. She then explained that the Agri-Trade Fair and Exhibits is a quarterly event held for the province’s farmers, fishermen, and exhibitors to recognize their efforts and hard work for the industry. She also announced that another leg of the Agri-Trade Fair and Exhibits will be held in December. She also expressed her heartfelt appreciation to all of the attendees, exhibitors, and partners who participated and helped make the program a success.
Mr. Joselito Felix H. Noceda, Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer for Cavite, coaxed everyone not to give up and become weary of farming, fishing and raising animals, because these are the most important for these are the sources of food. Hence, he encouraged everyone to continue supporting one another to grow and strengthen the agricultural industry in the province. He added that the Department of Agriculture is grateful to the local government units that have become partners of the agriculture sector.
However, Mr. Noceda shared details about the virus in bananas in Cavite and urged the farmers that if they encountered and saw bananas like these, they should not transfer or take it out of the area because the virus is contagious and can spread quickly.
Meanwhile, Ms. Maridelle G. Jaurigue, Media Production Specialist II, who attended on behalf of Dr. Rolando V. Maningas, OIC-Center Director, stated that the farmers and exhibitors in Cavite are fortunate to have such a platform to consolidate their products and this Agri Trade Fair and Exhibits is an excellent opportunity for them to become known for their focused commodities which will not only help them connect with other farmers and exhibitors, but will also help them build trust with consumers.
Dr. Nellie M. Ilas, Chairwoman of the Provincial Agriculture and Fishery Council, asked everyone to always support agricultural programs and activities that will help the province and country’s growth because agriculture is part of our livelihood.
Afterwards, Hon. Shernan S. Jaro, 3rdĀ District Board Member and Chairman Committee on Agriculture, committed to always be of service for the improvement of the agricultural industry in the province of Cavite.
After the program, guests visited the booths to see the products of the Ā thirty-six (36) exhibitors.
