The Office of the Provincial Population Officer in cooperation with the Provincial Government of Cavite Employees and Community Multipurpose Cooperative (PGCECMPC), orchestrated a meaningful parent summit on November 10, 2023 at the Ceremonial Hall of the Provincial Capitol in Trece Martires City, where parent-leaders from municipalities of Naic, Indang, Rosario and Cities of General Trias and Trece Martires gained profound learnings, meaningful exchanges and connections.

Ms. Lorena R. Cron, Chairperson, PGCECMPC, welcomed the participants, setting a positive tone for the event.

The activity resonated with inspirational messages from Ms. Rose Adlawan, Project Manager of Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP), Ms. Angelina C. Bergonio, General Manager of PGCECMPC, Ms. Karen De Jesus, Grievance Officer, and Mr. Ariel G. Jarin, Provincial Population Officer I, each emphasizing the significance of open communication in fostering strong parent-child relationships. Parenting, as underscored during the speech of Ms. Anna Viela V. Amparo, Provincial Population Officer I, was portrayed as a lifelong journey and commitment.

The summit also featured a livelihood training session with Ms. Venus Romerosa. Attendees learned the techniques in preparing longganisa, hamonado, tocino, skinless, and lumpiang shanghai, enhancing the culinary skills and potentially opening economic avenues.

Adding a touch of excitement, a raffle draw was included during the event, creating a sense of community and shared celebration for the participants.

Open communication is the cornerstone of effective parenting, making it a lifelong pursuit and responsibility. The event not only educated but also empowered parents, reinforcing the idea that nurturing connections with their children is a continuous, evolving process.
