With its undertaking to save the environment, the provincial government of Cavite thru the Provincial Government – Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGENRO) led by Ms. Anabelle Cayabyab made an extensive effort to conserve and protect the ecological system as they spearheaded the Cavite Arbor Day Celebration entitled “Conservation and Rehabilitation of Streambanks along Imus Ylang-Ylang Watershed held on October 25, 2019 at Barangay Iba in the municipality of Silang. Environmental volunteers gathered at the covered court and attended a short program which signaled the opening ceremony of the tree planting activity. Hundreds of volunteers planted 1000 trees comprised of Atis, Anonas, Guyabano, Rambutan, Langka, Suha and Irok in line with the advocacy of the National Greening Program and in support to the environmental program for Disaster Risk Management. Present during the greening program were Cavite State University (Trece Martires City, City of General Trias and Tanza Campus) Dean Professor Noel Sedigo, MENRO Lyn Cabrera of Silang, and volunteers from the Cavite Provincial Police Office , Bureau of Fire Protection, United Methodist Church- Cavite, DENR-PENRO Cavite, ChemPlus Carmona, Adventist University of the Philippines- Silang, Jesus Christ the Kings Lord of Lords-Dasmariñas, employees from the provincial government of Cavite, and local employees from Barangay Iba headed by its Punong Barangay Fe Asuncion and the members of the barangay council.
