Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS) Seal Awarding and Declaration Ceremony of Region IV-A and Peace and Order Council (POC)

On June 12, 2026, CALABARZON made history as the first region in the Philippines to be officially declared insurgency-free this year. The milestone was marked by the conferment of the Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS) Status during a ceremony at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena City.

Coinciding with the 128th Anniversary of the Philippines Independence, the event was led by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” C. Remulla and Quezon Province Governor Dr. Angelina “Doktora Helen” DL. Tan, who also serves as the Chairperson of the CALABARZON Regional Peave and Order Council (RPOC). They were joined by various regional and local government officials.

The Province of Cavite was the first in the region to achieve SIPS status in 2018 and revalidated in 2024. The SIPS designation conferred by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to cities, municipalities, and provinces. It certifies that Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) have been successfully neutralized, effectively reducing local insurgency to manageable levels and clearing the path for sustained economic growth.

Alongside the awarding ceremony, CALABARZON provinces renewed their SIPS dedication by signing a ceremonial Pledge of Commitment.
