To sustain the entrepreneurship advocacy in the province of Cavite,Ā the Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office (PCLEDO) in partnership with the Cavite Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council (CaSMEDC) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ā Cavite, facilitated the 4th Cavite MSMEs Business Conference bannering the theme āHuman Resource Management: A Tool for Productivity and Efficiency for MSMEs on December 6, 2017 at the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) in Tagaytay City.Ā The program served as venue to gather dynamic entrepreneurs to discuss and learn about timely issues concerning enterprise development and build and strengthen their network, creating a more solid foundation for the local community.
PCLEDO head, Mr. Alvin Mojica led the opening remarks and encouraged the participants to listen and stay until the end of the session to partake their views on the topics to be discussed. CaSMEDC Chairperson Teresita M. Leabres explained the overview of the conference while Mr. Rodel Vincent Bae, Executive Assistant of Governor Boying Remulla delivered the keynote speech on behalf of the governor.
Ms. Jennifer Capistrano-Reyes, Organizational Development and Business Consultant of Compos Mentis Training and Consultancy discussed the topic āPerformance: The Key to Management Effectivenessā. She introduced and propagated the concept of employee performance management and emphasized its importance on business. Labor Laws for MSMEs was tackled by Ms. Ma. Angelique E. Yaun, Senior Labor and Employment Officer of the Department of Labor and Employment ā Cavite to familiarize the participants with the existing labor laws to be observed. Employee Engagement as Enhancer to Productivity and Profitability was discussed by Dr. Aldrin Antivola, Business Efficiency Advisor and Organizational Therapist of different agencies. He highlighted the importance of imparting knowledge on employee engagement techniques to be able to retain their commitment to the company.
Success story was shared by Ms. Ma. Isabel N. Punzalan, president and chief executive officer of Delfaās Food Products, Inc. which inspired the entrepreneurs to adopt such measures to eventually strengthen their organization towards further growth. On the other hand, Provincial Director Noly Guevara of DTI-Cavite expressed challenging words to entrepreneurs to continue their endeavor and further enhance their management to achieve their goal.
