As part of the 125th Commemoration of the Battle of Binakayan, the Provincial
Government of Cavite through the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs
Office, in partnership with the National Commission on Culture and the
Arts initiated the online webinar entitled “Battle of Binakayan:
Filipino Victory in 1896” that highlights the significant contribution
of Filipino leaders in attaining victory during the Philippine
Revolution.
During the program, Senior Tourism Officer Karen C. de Lara delivered
her welcome message emphasizing the bravery, resilience and patriotism
of our revolutionary heroes who fought during the Battle of Binakayan.
Meanwhile, NHCP Commissioner Emmanuel Calairo led the discussion and
shared important points behind the notable battle. Dr. Calairo was also
active and eager to answer the questions from the online viewers.
Closing the activity was Chairperson, Sub-Commission on Culture Cecille
T. Gelicame expressing her appreciation to the speaker and organizers
for reviving the history of Cavite to inspire the future generation.
