The Provincial Government of Cavite, through the Provincial Tourism and
Cultural Affairs Office, held the Kalye Kulinarya: Virtual Culinary
Demonstration on December 10, 2021 via Zoom app. This activity aims to
preserve the provinceās culinary heritage by passing on to the youth
the knowledge and techniques in preparing traditional CaviteƱo recipes,
as expressed by Provincial Tourism Officer Rozelle Sangalang in her
welcome remarks.
Chef Armand Joseph Senido, 2018 Kalye Kulinarya 1st runner up presented
the Valenciana con Morcon recipe. Meanwhile, Chef Nicole Pimentel, 2018
Kalye Kulinarya Champion, demonstrated the Trip of Dips that includes
Tinapa Dip, Imus Longganisa Dip, and Kesong Puti Dip. Finally, Chef
Christopher Carangian of Razorchef Philippines showcased the preparation
of pancit langlang, a historical noodle dish, mentioned in Jose
Rizalās novel āEl Filibusterismo,ā describing it as his favorite
food in the town of Imus.
After the demonstration, the participants had an informative discussion
with the guest chefs as they discovered interesting stories behind
Caviteās culinary.
