On August 11, 2022, twenty-six persons deprived of liberty (PDL) formally completed their junior high school while 8 PDL finished their elementary education under the Alternative Learning System of the Department of Education (DepEd) in a ceremony with the theme “Gradweyt ng K to 12: Masigasig sa mga Pangarap at Matatag sa mga Pagsubok” at the Cavite Provincial Jail Trece Martires City.
Employees from the provincial jail headed by PCol Gil T Torralba (Ret), Provincial Warden commended the perseverance of the graduates to continue learning despite their situation and encouraged them to strive more to have meaningful participation in the community.
Meanwhile, Trece Martires City Councilor Joyce Ann C. Mojica was present as the event’s keynote speaker. She shared the fable of a frog who never gave up in the face of trials and encouraged PDLs to continue striving to become better persons whatever adversity they may come across.
