Cavite commemorates 59th Death Anniversary of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo

In a simple ceremony spearheaded by the National Historical Commission
of the Philippines ā€“ Museo ni Emilio Aguinaldo (NHCP-MEA) for the 59th
Death Anniversary of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo commemoration held on
February 6, 2023 in Kawit, Cavite Board Member Davey Christian R. Chua,
joined the flag-raising, wreath-laying rites and the opening of exhibit
on behalf of Governor Juanito Victor C. Remulla. The exhibit entitled
ā€œ682 Across Biak na Bato,ā€ highlighted the journey of the Filipino
revolutionaries in 1897 from the foothills of Sierra Madre to Victoria
Harbor in Hongkong. The commemorative event was also participated by
officials from the NHCP, LGU-Kawit, Office of the Representative 1st
District of Cavite, Philippine National Police,Ā  Bureau of Fire
Protection, Department of Education, descendants of Emilio Aguinaldo,
Association of Barangay Captains ā€“ Kawit Cavite, and IGLPI-Emilio
Aguinaldo Lodge No. 5 Worshipful.

Aguinaldo died of a heart attack at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Quezon
City, Philippines, on February 6, 1964, at the age of 94. His private
land and mansion, which he had donated the prior year, continue to serve
as a shrine to both the revolution for Philippine independence and the
revolutionary himself. (AGA)
