The Provincial Government of Cavite thru the Cavite Provincial Population Office was awarded as the Best Performing Province in the implementation of the Philippine Population Management Program (PPMP) in the CALABARZON area. It was awarded by Ms. Marilyn F. Ogaya, Officer-in-Charge, Regional Director of Commission on Population Region IV. The citation also mentioned that Cavite exhibits “high accomplishments in the demand-generation activities for Responsible Parenting and Family Planning Program” of the Commission on Population. Through RP-FP, POPCOM would like to help couples / parents exercise responsible parenting to achieve their desired number, timing and spacing of their children, and to contribute in improving the maternal, neonatal and child health, and nutrition (MNCHN).
This year, Cavite’s target is 8,540 couple participants for RP-FP. As of third quarter this year, PPO Cavite already achieved 120 percent of its target.
The said award was given during the 4th Regional Population Management Committee (RPMC) Consultative Meeting and Strategic Planning last November 22-23, 2017 at Days Hotel, Tagaytay City. Cavite also hosted the said event together with City Governments of Bacoor, Imus, Tagaytay and Gen. Trias. (Paul Mark M. Feranil)
