HEALTH PROGRAMS FOR THE CENTENARIAN

In accordance with the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Provincial Ordinance No. 12 Article 8 which states that Centenarians in the province shall be provided with free medical and dental checkup, the provincial government of Cavite thru the Provincial Health Office visited the municipality of General Emilio Aguinaldo and the City of Tagaytay on September 11, 2019 to check the health conditions of their centenarians. They include Fidela Calingasan, a 100-year-old resident from Barangay Poblacion II in the municipality of General Emilio Aguinaldo, Potenciana Matanguihan Terrible, 102 years old, and Apolonia PereƱa Ferma, 106 years old from Barangays Calabuso and Neogan in the City of Tagaytay, respectively.Ā  General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital’s medical professionals comprised of Dr. Charito Gozo, Dr. Elizabeth Adove, and Dr. Regina Salazar, together with the medical technologist and physical therapists provided the healthcare services, some vitamins and prescribed medicines. They also exerted time to communicate with the relatives who are nursing the centenarians and offered some tips on how they can properly handle the moods, taught simple exercises as well as foods for the elders. The program was made possible thru the support from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Federation of Senior Citizens in the province, City and Municipal Social Welfare Office and the Provincial Health Office thru its Senior Citizens Health and Well-being Program Manager Adela Z. Dela Cruz, RM, RN.
