KALINGA SA NAKATATANDA PROJECT – Caring for the Welfare of Elderlies

As part of Cavite Provincial Government’s program of reaching out in-house elderlies in the institutions, the Provincial Council for the Elderly through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office conducted the annual “Kalinga sa Nakatatanda” Project on November 22-23, 2018.  Christmas gifts to augment daily basic personal needs were given to 19 elderly women from Mama’s Hope Haven in General Trias City. Also, 14 individuals from Halfway Home in the City of Imus and 11 from Bahay San Jose in Alfonso received Christmas package that includes adult diapers, personal hygiene kits, slippers, pajamas for male and dusters for female and other food items.  Snacks were also served to the recipient senior citizens during the visit. Meanwhile, Social Workers Zwirtly Mae S. Martinez of Mama’s Hope Haven, Ms. Josephine G. Villanueva of Halfway Home and Ms. Lourdes Brual, coordinator of Bahay San Jose expressed their gratitude towards the governor and to the people behind the project for their unwavering support and effort in uplifting the lives of the elders and persons with disabilities in the province.
