RELIEF DISTRIBUTION IN CAVITE

Continuous rains brought by the southwest monsoon (habagat) and low pressure area (LPA) affected coastal communities and those living along rivers and creeks in the province of Cavite. In a prompt response, Governor Jonvic Remulla directed concerned offices, primarily the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) to assess the situation for the effective allocation of relief resources.
On August 5, 2019, Governor Remulla spearheaded the distribution of relief packs in Tanza and Trece Martires City with the team of volunteers from PSWDO and PDRRMO. The governor underscored that the program is intended to somehow help the families on their basic needs, since most of the livelihood are halted due to the bad weather condition. Likewise, Governor Remulla provided safety reminders which are very vital for their health during the rainy season amidst the dengue outbreak in the province.
In Trece Martires City, Mayor Gemma Lubigan, Vice Mayor Bobby Montehermoso and the city councilors joined the governor during the relief distribution program held at the South Summit covered court in Barangay Aguado for a total of 4,000 recipients.
Meanwhile, in Tanza, wherein most of the affected families are fisherfolks, relief goods were distributed at the covered courts of coastal barangays Julugan V and Amaya VII. Local officials headed by Mayor Yuri Pacumio and Vice Mayor Munding del Rosario together with the members of the Sangguniang Bayan thanked the provincial government for prioritizing their constituents during calamity situations. Four thousand packs were allotted for the consumption of barangays Julugan I-VIII, same with the relief goods received by the residents of Barangay Amaya.
The locals were also relieved with the presence of other guests including Congressman Boying Remulla, Vice Governor Jolo Revilla, Board Members Ping Remulla and Lito Langit who also told recipients to stay dry and stay safe.
Other coastal municipalities such as Kawit and Naic are next to visit for donation of relief.
