Hundreds of senior citizens in the province joined the Walk for Life as part of the celebration of the Elderly Filipino Week 2018 carrying the theme, “Kilalanin at Parangalan: Tagasulong ng Karapatan ng NakatatandaĀ Tungo sa Lipunang Mapagkalinga,” on October 10, 2018 held at the provincial capitol grounds in Trece Martires City. Grade 10 students from Trece Martires City National Highschool welcomed the participants and waved their colorful posters with affectionate notes dedicated for the elders as they passed their track while the seniors exposed various advises to the youth thru proverb and insight written in bond papers. The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office with the support of the Provincial Health Office spearheaded the program for the elderly as they blissfully led the Zumba fitness for the senior citizens. Supervising Cooperative Development Specialist, Atty. Kherby Reyes encouraged the seniors to enjoy life while they still can and reiterated the support being offered by the provincial government to ease their way of living.
