More than 200 officers and members of the Top 100 Primary Cooperatives in the province convened at the Provincial Gymnasium in Trece Martires City to participate in the Investment and Business Opportunities Forum (Part 2) with the theme, “Future-Proof: Maximizing Cavite Cooperatives’ Triple Bottomline”, (People. Planet. Profit) on July 24, 2019. The activity was facilitated by the Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office (PCLEDO) in collaboration with the Provincial Cooperative Development Council (PCDC), PAMANA Development Cooperative Federation and Association of Filipino Franchisers, Inc. (AFFI) to intensify the performance of cooperatives and adopt innovative approach to maximize its growth and development.
PAMANA DCF Chairperson Ms. Ma Luisa G. Recimiento warmly welcomed and acknowledged all the attendees. Officer-in-Charge of PCLEDO, Atty. Khervy B. Reyes delivered a motivational speech focusing on the expansion of services and being open for other businesses to attract more consumers and members that are beneficial to the whole organization. He also pointed out that change must start within the group to attain a more progressive cooperative. Provincial Administrator for Community Affairs Mr. Alvin S. Mojica, on behalf of Governor Jonvic C. Remulla, assured every cooperative will receive continuous support from the local government to have a successful plans, programs and projects.
The event featured talks on strategies to upscale businesses. For instance, Microtech System Services and Equipment, Inc. thru its Manager, Mr. Michael Digman, introduced products and services in terms of hardware solution which can provide technical services for efficient banking and advanced equipment. When it comes to software solution, Ms. Rachle Navarro, Area Operations Manager of Coredev Solutions, presented their services that can incorporate all the businesses and accounting transactions for a more reliable data in financial statements. AltPaynet Corp President, Mr. Ernie Don Vacal reminded cooperatives to provide services that are relevant to the market and also introduced their services such as invoicing, remitting and paying transactions through different global payment methods.
Cooperatives were also presented with the idea of engaging in other business ventures. Vanderbuild RE Holdings Corp. President/CEO, Mr. Ronaldo V. Del Rosario encouraged the group to be open in property development and housing project in Cavite that will cater its members. PCDC Chairperson Fr. Arturo M. Balagat showed the Master Development Plan in establishing the Cavite’s First Cooperative Hospital located in the municipality of Alfonso and took the chance to seek for willing cooperative investors to accomplish the goal.
In the afternoon, Mr. Joey Espiritu, Owner of Tent King and Manang A’s Catering, and Mr. Jefferson Chua, President /CEO of Cycle House shared their experiences and strategies on how to have a successful business and life. Mr. Espiritu mentioned that one must be open for change and innovation to always meet the needs and satisfaction of the target market. Mr. Chua emphasized that it is better to offer products at a low cost without compromising its quality.
Area Head of Sunlife Grepa- South Luzon Ms. Emma Fausto echoed the importance of life insurance in cooperatives for a more secured and protected team. Business Manager of Gardenia Kapit-Bisig MPTS Cooperative Mr. Jerry Ubina conversed the topic about cooperative’s opportunity in alternative medicine wherein he introduced Stevia Plant, a sweetener and healing herb can cure rampant diseases such as cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes and tuberculosis.
After every discussion, participants asked questions to the speakers for better understanding of the products and services offered. Chairman Emeritus of PCDC, Mr. Rodrigo Camia delivered his closing remarks and hoped that the activity would help the coops to expand and strengthen their organization.
