Immediate medical attention was provided to Joran Balunes, a patient who was diagnosed with pneumonia, during the free medical and dental mission conducted at Pio de Roda Café de Ocampo, Barangay Poblacion 3 in the municipality of Indang on January 20, 2017. A referral letter from Dr. Ma. Fe Adove was issued to Balunes to aid him and seek direct medical intervention at General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital as he experienced fever and difficulty in breathing. Balunes was one of the less than two hundred patients who availed free medical checkups and consultations, as well as free tooth extraction conducted by volunteer doctors, dentists, nurses, and technical staff from GEAMH. Amputee patients were also treated and will be given prosthetic legs to restore the normal functions of the missing limb. The medical mission was sponsored by the provincial government of Cavite with the support from the Cavite Coordinators Association, Cavite Medical and Dental Associations, PGH Jessie Robredo Foundation Inc., Kiwanis Club Treasurers of Indang, Kiwanis Club Jewels of Mendez, Buna Cerca Rural Waterworks Association, Buna Cerca Barangay Council, and Crown Peak Foundation Inc. Aside from medical assistance, the Provincial Population Office rendered a free guidance counselling on family planning and proper birth spacing.
